Jan 19, 2006

After performing for the children and Women of Maiti Nepal on the 23rd of December 2005 and for a gathered mass of some 700 street children of Kathmandu at the CPCS premises in Dillibazar on the 4th of January 2005, Nepathya is now performing for the children of Bal Mandir (Nepal Children's Association).

The show is scheduled to be organised on the 24th of January at a beautiful courtyard inside the Bal Mandir premises, which will accommodate around 500 children.

In addition to the children residing at Bal Mandir, both Bal Mandir and nepa-laya have worked towards getting more children from other Child Homes of the valley.

Bal Mandir is a government run Children's Home where 266 children reside. Majority of them are orphans.

"Bringing back smiles to our children and other socially deprived has been the main motive behind the concert series, and I am glad to see our initiative being well received" – says Amrit Gurung, the front man of the band. "It is indeed a pleasurable moment to see these children smile and dance to our songs," adds Gurung.

Nepathya – which has been appreciated for their social consciousness has recently released their new album - Ghatana. Critics have credited the album to be courageous and an anti-war musical album.

The Nepathya for All series is planned to include six shows in total. The remaining three performances will be dedicated to children with developmental challenges, as well as individuals with visual, hearing, or speech impairments.
